LEARN TO DANCE

"Whether we are learning from lectures as we upgrade our skills or teaching what we have learnt to students, it is the music which ultimately inspires our interpretation. Over the years "Ballroom Dancing" has had many perceptions, the main one as being, " an older persons hobby".

While "Ballroom Dancing" is commonly frequented by a mature spectrum of individuals, there is an ever increasing number of children and young adults partaking in the many different areas and aspects of this diverse sportive activity.

Ballroom Dancing engulfs many specific identities that together are commonly generalised in the one term "Ballroom Dancing", however this is not quite accurate.

The "Ballroom" part of the term simply identifies that the activity generally takes place in a grandiose setting that is correctly termed from a historical point of view. However, depending on the purpose and style of dance, now a days, could also be accomplished in more intimate settings. Also, "Ballroom Dancing", has always been something that in order to best describe it's nature, is best accomplished with a partner.

The "Dancing" part of the term easily represents just that. The only important factor here is the type of music, which is the most important thing and will be expanded upon within this site.
